Overview

PTOPayout ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website ptopayout.com. This Privacy Policy describes what information is collected when you use our website and calculator tools, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information you enter into calculators

Our calculators run entirely in your web browser. The salary, hours, dates, PTO balances and other figures you enter are processed locally on your device and are not transmitted to PTOPayout. We do not store, collect or have access to what you enter into any calculator.

What is stored in your browser

We store two settings in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device.

• ptop.state: the two-letter code of the state you last selected (for example, "CA"), so the next calculator can preselect it. Nothing else about your inputs is saved.
• theme: your light or dark mode choice, if you changed it.

We also set one first-party cookie, consent, to remember whether you accepted or declined cookies. You can clear any of these at any time through your browser settings.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics is not configured and sends no analytics data until you accept cookies in the cookie banner. The Google tag script is not downloaded from Google until you accept. If you decline, it stays off.

If you accept, Google Analytics may collect standard web analytics data, including:

• IP address (anonymized)
• Browser type and version
• Pages visited and time on page
• Referring website
• Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)

We also send a small set of usage events, such as "calculator completed" or "result copied." These events carry only an event name, the calculator's id, the selected state code, and which link, category or copy option was used. They never include the amounts, dates, hours or other values you enter.

Site search

Search runs in your browser. It loads a search index file from ptopayout.com itself. What you type into search is not sent to a third-party search service.

Cookies

We use the consent cookie described above, and Google Analytics cookies only if you accept them. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Our calculators work fully without cookies.

Third-party services

• Google Analytics: to understand site usage patterns, only after you consent. Google's privacy policy applies to data it collects.
• Google AdSense: Ads are not currently shown on this site. If we enable Google AdSense, Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads.
• Cloudflare: for website hosting and performance. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data (such as IP address) to deliver pages. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to its services.

Some pages link to other websites, including government sources and labeled affiliate or sponsored partners. Their privacy policies apply once you leave PTOPayout.

Information you send us

This site does not collect personal information unless you voluntarily contact us by email. If you do, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and use it only to reply and to fix any issue you report.

Data security

Our website is served over HTTPS. Because calculator inputs never leave your browser, there is no server-side store of them to breach. We take reasonable measures to protect the limited analytics data that is collected.

Children's privacy

Our website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
